Total Patagonia - 16 Days

Day 01:

Buenos Aires. Arrival, reception and transfer with local guide to the hotel. Day at leisure. Optional tours: Half day tour Delta del Tigre or Fiesta Gaucha Ranch), with activities exhibition and barbeque lunch, wine and popular singing and dancing, giving the visitors an idea about the Gauchos daily life. Overnight.

Day 02:

Buenos Aires. Breakfast. At the time scheduled, half day city tour through Buenos Aires, visiting Plaza de Mayo, Casa Rosada, the Metropolitan Cathedral, and the Cabildo. Then you will arrive to La Boca neighbourhood to walk around Caminito Street and see how the first immigrants who arrived to Buenos Aires used to live. Overnight.

Day 03:

Buenos Aires. Breakfast. Day at leisure. In the evening, pick up to attend a Dinner Tango Show. Overnight.

Day 04:

Buenos Aires - Puerto Madryn. Breakfast. Transfer to the airport to take the flight to Puerto Madryn. Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight.

Day 05:

Puerto Madryn. Breakfast and full day excursion to Península Valdés. Early in the morning, departure to Isthmus Carlos Ameghino from where it is possible to see at the same time Nuevo and San Jose Gulfs, visit the Interpretation Centre and see the Birds’ Island. This is a small island connected to the continent during low tides where visitors are not allowed. A wide variety of birds arrive during their breeding season: seagulls, flamingos, herons, cormorants, ducks and penguins among others. The tour continues to Caleta Valdes where there is an important settlement of Southern Elephant seals and Punta Delgada. After lunch, drive to Puerto Piramides, a nice beach surrounded by cliffs. Whale watching tours by boat leave from this port. On the return to Puerto Madryn, the tour passes by Salinas Grande and Chica, a natural depression 42 mts. below sea level. Overnight.

Day 06:

Puerto Madryn. Breakfast and full day excursion to Punta Tombo. Located on the Atlantic Ocean coast, Punta Tombo reserve is home to the world's largest colony of Magellanic penguins. Spending much of their lives in the water, these penguins return yearly to the Patagonian coast to court, breed, and raise their young. Males arrive prior to the females, preparing and settling into their old nests. When the females arrive, they search out their lifelong mate through a series of calls and a chorus of answers. After an elaborate courtship, the female will lay one egg and both male and female will share the two-month incubation. Once the baby penguin, or chick, hatches, the parents will forage for food, feeding the chick by regurgitation until it can fend for itself. After the chicks learn to swim, the family will return to the ocean and migrate north to southern Brazil. When the immature penguins return to Punta Tombo the following year, they will moult their feathers, and breeding will once again resume. Besides penguins it is also possible to see many other kind of birds in the area. During the transfer to Puerto Madryn, the tour stops at Gaiman, one of the oldest Welsh colonies in the area, where it is possible to taste an excellent tea with home made cakes. Return to Puerto Madryn and transfer to the airport to take the flight to Ushuaia. Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Overnight.

Day 07:

Puerto Madryn - Ushuaia. Breakfast. In the morning, half day Tierra del Fuego National Park tour. This Park, 12 km from Ushuaia, is the only National Park with ocean coast in the country. Its 63.000 hectares protect innumerable ñires, lengas, cherry trees, calafates and notros and flowers as violets and orchids. The walk in the park offers marvellous panoramic views of the Beagle Channel surrounded by mountains and an opportunity to feel nature at its best. The Pan American road that joins America from north to south, starts in Alaska and finishes at Lapataia Bay, a dreamt paradise that together with Laguna Verde and Lago Roca is the highlight of the tour. In the afternoon, half day city tour, departing from Maipú avenue, towards the Footbridge Luis Pedro Fique, we will cross this narrow pass that ends at La Mission Neiboghood. During the tour we will be able to observe old houses pertaining to the first fuegian families like Bebans, Pastorizas, Cangas, Fiques, Salomons, Ramos and the Provincial Legislature, old Government's house. We will also be able to observe the contrast of the incredible growth produced by the arrival of new settlers during the 80's. In our journey we will include the transfer to the base of the chairlift at the Le Martial glacier that will allow us to enjoy a great landscape from the top. Our return will be through the Leandro N. Alem avenue, and will continue at the Maritim Museum and Old Prison of Ushuaia.

Day 08:

Ushuaia. Breakfast. Half day tour to Haberton. It is the oldest Estancia in of Tierra del Fuego, located towards the east and 90km away from our city. These earth were yielded by the government of President Roca to priest Thomas Bridges, because of his contribution to the knowledge of the zone and its coexistence with the natives of the place. The tour start to cross valleys, towards the east, where we will observe more peat bogs, rivers and lagoons, in addition to an exquisite vegetation. The main house of the Estancia, is located in a protected bay. Its buildings area, conserved like long ago, is constructed of wood and covered with zinc; the excellent garden with most of the fuegian flora species is waiting to be visited and we will be guided through, with a brief explanation about of it and the activities done in the Estancia. Return to Ushuaia. Overnight.

Day 09:

Ushuaia - El Calafate.Breakfast and transfer to the airport to take the flight to El Calafate. Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight.

Day 10:

El Calafate. Breakfast. Full day Perito Moreno Glacier tour. The majesty of nature at its best. Departure from El Calafate bordering the southern arm of the Argentine Lake to get to Los Glaciares National Park (90 km away) and reach the paths to the Glacier. Perito Moreno Glacier is about 30.000 years old. Its surface is 192 km2, the front wall is 5 km long and some of its peaks are 80 metres high. The deep blue base is almost as dark as the water that surrounds it. The deep silence is suddenly interrupted by the tremendous noise of huge pieces of ice that crack from the glacier and fall into the lake to float on the Canal de los Tempanos (Icebergs Channel). In the afternoon, half day tour to Estancia Alice. This estancia is located at 22 kilometres from El Calafate. There you can take different activities as a sheep shearing and sheep herding show, a horse riding and a guided walk to Isla de los Pájaros. El Galpón also counts with an exclusive restaurant from where you can enjoy a perfect view of Lake Argentino. Overnight.

Day 11

El Calafate. Breakfast. Transfer to Puerto Bandera, from where the catamaran departs to sail across Lake Argentino towards Upsala Glacier. You will get astonished by the huge icebergs that, sometimes, are bigger that the catamaran. At noon, you will disembark in Onelli Bay, one of the most beatiful points into this national park, where you will walk 800 meters through the forest to reach Onelli Lagoon. From there, you will have an outstanding view of Bolados, Agassiz and Onelli glaciers. After that, you will take the catamaran again in order to visit Spegazzini Glacier, the highest one into this national park and, after that, start the way back. Overnight.

Day 12

El Calafate - Bariloche. Breakfast.. Transfer to the airport to take the flight to Bariloche. Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight.

Day 13

Bariloche. DHalf day tour ¨Circuito Chico¨. The tour starts in the city of San Carlos de Bariloche along the Ezequiel Bustillo Avenue, along Nahuel Huapi Lake; we enjoy different landscapes to end up reaching the Campanario hill. There is a cable chair up to the peak, from where you can appreciate one of the most beautiful views of the region. Continuing our trip, we reach the Llao Llao. Over there you can find the international hotel of the same name and the San Eduardo chapel, some architectural gems of the region and above the Nahuel Huapi Lake it is also found Puerto Pañuelo. Later, we reach the Panoramic point, a natural balcony that allow us to enjoy an spectacular view of the Moreno lake and the Llao Llao Peninsula. Return to the city.

Day 14

Bariloche. Breafkast. Full day tour to San Martín de los Andes. This excursion leaves Bariloche northwards along National Route 237, for 21 km until you meet secondary route F. This is a winding road, with natural beauty all around. You go past Manzano Port and arrive in Villa La Angostura. Once you left the village behind, you will be on the Camino de los Siete Lagos, or Seven Lakes Road: these are Correntoso, Espejo, Villarino, Falkner, Hermoso, Machónico, and Meliquina. Finally, you arrive in San Martín de los Andes on the shores of Lácar Lake. The return trip to Bariloche can be through Paso Córdoba or along National Route 40 via Junín de los Andes and La Rinconada. Overnight.

Day 15

Bariloche - Buenos Aires. Breakfast and transfer to the airport to take de flight to Buenos Aires. Arrival and transfer to the hotel Overnight.

Day 16

Buenos Aires. Breakfast and transfer to the airport to take the flight back.
