Considered the biggest wetlands of the world, this remote region is an indomitable alluvial plain, which in the past was an original interior sea, 65 Million years ago. The Pantanal extends on both banks of the Paraguay River as soft and suspicious marshlands. 

This is the region where jaguars, giant river otters, anacondas, caimans, iguanas, capybaras, howler monkeys and the largest number of blue parrots in the entire planet dwell. It is a photographer’s Mecca and paradise, and during this journey, you will be able to take some wonderful animal pictures.

Day 5: PANTANAL - PARAGUAYAN FARM. Transfer by boat to Puerto Mourtiñoand continuing by private 4X4 getting more and more deep into the Paraguayan rural areas.

Day 6: MBRACAYU RESERVE. Enjoy this unique and amazing environment of the virgin jungle.

Day 7: MBRACAYU RESERVE – ASUNCION (300 Km).Transfer from the hotel to Asunción or continue traveling to Iguazu Falls.

Itineraty Details

Day 1ASUNCION - CONCEPCION

By the morning, pick up at the Silvio Petirosi International Airport in Asunción by private vehicle and transfer to the City of Concepción 420 km away, through the wild paradise of the Gran Chaco, an exotic region that has hardly been modified. On the way, we’ll have lunch (not included) and take advantage of tasting the famous Paraguayan chipas (kind of special bread). In the afternoon arrive in this small city, lying on the bank of the Paraguay River. Accommodation in a 4-star hotel, followed by a city tour to enjoy the wonderful architecture of the city founded in the 18th century. The rest of the afternoon is free to enjoy the hotel, visit the picturesque port and marvel at the amazing sunsets over the Paraguay River

Day 2: CONCEPCION - PANTANAL

Early in the morning, after breakfast we will depart by private 4x4 vehicles to Puerto Mourtiño, arriving after approximately 5 hours. Crossing through the fascinating deep Paraguay already into the territories of wild nature it will be possible to appreciate the landscape changes between the “Cerrado” and the Pantanal.

After a short pass through Brazilian territory, we will arrive at this small port on the Paraguay River, sailing by boat to Posada Laguna Yacaré, lunch upon arrival. Accommodation for three nights, full board included. Be ready for four days of a wonderful adventure!!!

Days 3 & 4: PANTANAL

During your stay at Posada Laguna Yacaré, will enjoy an unforgettable experience, as well as the darkness and loneliness of the Paraguayan Pantanal nights, enjoying a memorable momentum. During the stay at the Posada, will have the opportunity to participate not only during the day but in the afternoons and even at sunset and nights, on different photographic safaris, on our comfortable 4x4 vehicles, boats and even walking.

You will have the opportunity to observe an enormous diversity of flora and fauna, and it’s even possible to see, if you are lucky, the most elusive predator of the Americas: the jaguar.

Day 5: PANTANAL - PARAGUAYAN FARM

After arriving at Puerto Murtiño, will continue in our 4x4 vehicle getting more and more deep into the Paraguayan rural areas, keeping these experiences in your memories for life. We arrived at a typical Paraguayan cattle farm, where we enjoyed observing the Paraguayan rural way of life in a rural environment but very friendly and cozy by the locals and always enjoying local homemade food. Undoubtedly an outstanding experience that will enrich the whole trip.

Day 6: MBRACAYU RESERVE

The road continues entering the deep Paraguayan rural area, finally arriving in the early hours at the Mbracayu Reserve, to enjoy this unique and amazing environment of the virgin jungle.

This Reserve is one of the last great remaining of the subtropical jungle of Paraguay and is the ideal place to complete the experience with nature, in a virgin and protected jungle environment, where only the Ache local ethnic group is allowed by Law to carry out their hunting activities and collection as they did ancestrally.

The whole reserve is magical, enjoy the virgin forest, learn from these native peoples and their culture and activities and talk with some scientists, who study different aspects of the reserve, it will be an incredible and unique experience.

Lodging at the Mbaracayu Lodge, the perfect place to meet that natural beauty. Located inside the Reserve, very clean, cozy and warm, with extraordinary homemade food and very friendly staff people (Very often in Paraguay).

Day 7: MBRACAYU RESERVE– ASUNCION (300 Km)

In the morning transfer from the hotel to Asunción or continue traveling to Iguazu Falls

Day 7: Mbaracayu to Iguazu Falls (370 km)

On our way to Puerto Iguazu, we will go into the roads of the region, it will seem like a trip in time towards the Europe of the ends of the XIXth Century and the beginnings of the XXth Century. Although the scenario and the climate were very different from their places of origin, the families quickly became farmers colonists on the basis of the family farm replicating the customs of their countries of origin and that the new generations conserve in the present.

Day 8: Puerto Iguazu

This day you can admire the Iguazu Falls from both the Argentinean side. You will have plenty of time to sit in awe at this incredible wonder of the world.

Day 9: Puerto Iguazu

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the Brazilian side of the waterfalls in order to admire the beauty of the whole landscape. The tropical rainforest provides the ideal setting for the torrents of water to crash with a thunderous thud on the rocks below. From the Brazilian side, you will enjoy a different view of the Falls during a walking tour through the passages that connect the different observation points for a panoramic view of the falls framed by a myriad of rainbows.

Transfer to the domestic airport in Argentina or Brazil

Transfer by boat to Puerto Mourtiño continuing by private 4X4 vehicle to Pedro Juan Caballero City, arrival and accommodation in a 4-star hotel for one night. Rest of the day at leisure, shopping etc.
“Pedro Juan Caballero is located in the Cordillera del Amambay. The landscape short before arriving is impressive due to the rugged orography, offering a unique spot of the country. Visit the Cerro Corá on the banks of the Aquidabán River, a historic place of great value in Paraguay, since the end of the fratricidal conflict that decimated the population of Paraguay, even today a strong nationalist spirit prevailed in the place. The site of striking natural beauty is now a national park.
 
 
DIA 6: PEDRO JUAN CABALLERO
In the morning transfer from the hotel to Doctor Fuster Airport, departing to Asunción and arriving at Silvio Pettirossi airport.
